I recently “upgraded” the Google Apps installation on a domain I own to “Standard” (ie, I identified myself as the owner of the domain to unlock the Dashboard). That means users are now centrally managed – by me.
So here’s the problem. Before I upgraded, there were several pending invitations to colleagues on the same domain. These disappeared when I upgraded, and, since then, I’ve been unable to re-add these users. I get this. And yes, it’s been more than five days.
Has anyone else experienced this before? Can you help?
Never had the problem.. But I’m guessing if it’s been more than 5 days, the upgrade probably messed up some internal record.. I had issues with creating usernames as I wanted them, after having deleted them as well. The easiest way to fix it is to recreate the username as an alternative of what you want, and assign an alias to the login.
Try creating the account with firstname.lastname as the login, and just set up the firstname@domain.name as an alias to that login.
Test it first, on your own account, to see if you can add the firstname as a nickname to be an alias on your account. As long as that works, then you know if you create a new account, in the form of firstname.surname, then at least that’ll work.
Thanks, Farhan. I’ll try that out!
